Our house blend exclusively features the highest quality Arabica coffee beans grown in the coffee belt between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn. Our house blend is sourced from a variety of smaller farms. We prioritise developing strong relationships with our robust suppliers, who support fair and resilient supply chains. This allows us to trace our coffee beans all the way back to the farm where they were produced.
Whether handpicked or mechanically harvested, our farmers are committed to providing the highest quality coffee for our house blends. We take pride in offering a variety of blends that are rich and flavorful, and that represent the hard work and dedication of our coffee producers.
We source our coffee from two distinct regions: East Africa, the birthplace of Arabica coffee, and Brazil, one of the largest coffee producing countries in the world.
In the warm temperatures of Brazil, the high humidity, fertile soil, and an altitude over 1200 masl provides optimal conditions for growing high-quality Arabica coffee beans.
While East Africa’s subtropical highland climate, with its distinct wet and dry seasons and cooler temperatures, creates an ideal environment for growing Arabica beans with complex and fruity flavour profiles. By blending these two distinct coffee profiles, you will have a unique and delicious coffee experience.
Our house blend uses both natural and washed processes to bring out the very best flavours.
In the natural process, the coffee cherries are left to dry in the sun for up to 4 weeks where they are turned regularly to ensure they are dried evenly. Finally, once fully dried, the outer layers of the cherries are removed to reveal the coffee beans
The washing process involves the outer layers of the coffee cherry being removed immediately after harvesting. The beans are then washed to remove any remaining fruit. Next, the beans are fermented in water for up to 48 hours to remove any remaining mucilage before finally being rinsed and dried.
